A Brow Lift / Forehead Lift is used to correct a drooping brow, smooth out the deep forehead wrinkles and lessen frown lines between the nose and eyes, that often make a person appear tired, sad or angry. The procedure results in a refreshed, youthful appearance to the forehead area above the eyes. It also improves the droopy eyelid appearance and is commonly performed with a Blepharoplasty. Combined with wrinkle relaxer / Botox prior to browlift (or some time after) it can significantly improve the outcome. It is also combined with endoscopic subperiosteal mid facelift and facelift.

Dr Pham usually performs endoscopic brow lift where the incisions are hidden in the hair or along the hair line. Occasionally mid foreheads lift or direct brow lift is performed and the incision is in the forehead or above the brow along the skin crease.

After surgery Dr Pham will apply sterile dressings. There will be a moderate degree of discomfort and some swelling and bruising. Ice packs on the area may help reduce any puffiness or swelling. You may have some drains in situ and these will normally be removed one day after surgery. Staples and sutures will be removed within 5-10 days. There will also be some numbness in the skin in front of the ears and this may take up to 6 months to get back to normal.
Hair can be washed on the second day but sutures and staples must be dried thoroughly. Applying Vaseline four times a day to the sutures is an essential part of the healing process. Sutures that have been kept lubricated with ointment are less painful to remove.
