Facelift: A Younger You
Face & Neck lift/ Mini face lift/ S &mdash lift/Subperiosteal mid-face lift/ Rhytidectomy
The effects of time, aging, gravity, smoking and other hereditary factors; takes a toll on the appearance of the face and neckline. A procedure such as a facelift or neck lift can significantly improve the appearance of the face and neck, by reducing sagging excess skin. Dr Pham and his professional team have significant experience in reducing the signs of aging and providing a refreshed and youthful appearance for their patients.
Reducing the Signs of Aging
A facelift is also referred to as a Rhytidectomy or Meloplasty and can considerably reduce the signs of aging by:
Removing excess skin
Tightening the underlying muscles and soft tissues
Re-draping the skin around the neck and face
Revitalised Youthful Appearance
A facelift can improve your appearance dramatically, as a safe, effective procedure performed to restore a more youthful appearance.
Benefits :
Reducing the signs of aging
Refreshing the face for a more youthful look
Re-draping the skin around the neck and face
Utilised for corporate competitiveness
Improving facial contours
Facelift surgery is effective in reducing the signs of aging and in improving facial contours but it does not stop the body clock or the natural aging process. The most common age group seeking facelift procedures are between 40-65 years of age but often older or younger people consider facelifts.
Getting Started A Facelift is an elective procedure, as it is a personal choice and not necessary for the maintenance of good health. During your initial consultation Dr Pham will evaluate the soft tissues and bony architecture, as well as the form and function of your head and neck areas to provide the basis of results to expect. Dr Pham will consider your skin type, elasticity, thickness of the facial skin, subcutaneous and fatty tissues, bone structure, face shape, hairline, ethnic background and age, along with function and any degree of deformity, to assess their influence on your surgery.
Types of Face lifts
There are several different types of facelifts:
Face and Neck Lift
For the typical face and neck lift Dr Pham starts from the temple area separating the skin and repositioning and tightening the underlying muscle and connective tissues, for a tighter and more youthful look. The procedure is ideal for men or women and Dr Pham tailors the incision lines to suit the individual, ensuring the thin and virtually unnoticeable scars can be camouflaged for a better overall finish
Mini facelift / S—lift
A mini face lift, minimum invasive facelift, S-lift or MACS lift are less invasive procedures, limited to the face area and are ideal for younger age groups or where less dramatic results are required. Dr Pham can recommend the best procedure to suit you based on the results you are looking to achieve. The benefits of the mini facelift include less down time, less risk of complications and reduced costs.
Endoscopic facelifts involved utilising a small tube with a light and camera attached, often for mid-facelifts or Subperiosteal Facelifts.
Neck Lift
A neck lift is often performed in combination with a facelift to correct loose skin under the chin. It is a very effective procedure when combined with a facelift for dramatically reducing the signs of aging.
Facelift Procedure
Dr Pham will inform you of the best methods of anaesthesia, the surgical facility where your procedure will take place and the benefits and risks involved in surgery. A Facelift can be performed under IV (intravenous) sedation combined with local anaesthesia or general anaesthesia, as a day surgery or in hospital.
As with all facial plastic surgery procedures, a thorough health assessment and realistic expectations are required and your understanding of the procedures and routines is essential. After surgery you can expect to have a 2 week recovery period, which will entail manageable pain, bruising and swelling.
In all surgeries, Dr Pham aims to camouflage or hide any scarring as best as possible for outstanding results.
The Total Package
Many patients seek a total face makeover, as there are often more areas that require refreshing. For example it is not uncommon for patients seeking a facelift and Blepharoplasty (eye lifts) and Rhinoplasty, as well as Botox. As a qualified Facial Plastic & Cosmetic Surgeon, Dr Pham is trained to perform cosmetic and reconstructive surgery on faces and necks. Dr Pham can provide expert advice on other related areas that may enhance the final outcome.
